The NHBC are the UK's leading warranty and insurance provider for new homes. Established in 1936, they set standards for registered builders and work to help them improve the construction quality of the homes they build. This is ultimately for the benefit of homeowners.
They provide inspection services, guidance and training to builders and engage with the industry, the Government and key stakeholders to help shape housing policy and practice. They also provide protection for homeowners through our range of Buildmark warranty products.
The NHBC currently provide warranty and insurance for over 1.5 million homes. Over the course of their history, they have provided warranty for around 30% of the total existing housing stock in the UK.
Their main warranty and insurance product, Buildmark, covers homes from before they are built, providing protection to the home buyer from the exchange of contracts through to the end of the 10th year following legal completion by the first homeowner.
